El Chuco came prepared

El Paso definitely learns from its disasters. After the 2006 flood, they made huge drainage improvements. After the 2011 freeze (it got down to 12F/-21C in Las Cruces!), they made power station improvements. And as a result of drought, they have the largest inland desalination plant and implementing closed loop “advanced purification”. You love to see it.

City lights from Rim Road Park, Downtown El Paso getting ready for Winterfest ice skating, and a new coffee shop/gaming center on the east side. Definitely going back to The Hive.

I recently had the opportunity to see Blue Man Group at the Plaza Theater in El Paso. It was a fantastic show, truly one-of-a-kind, full of comedy and PVC music. The light show was neat, especially the balls tossed into the audience with lights that matched the music, as well as the instances where the audience was fully illuminated in bright white light. I slightly regret not getting a “Shake That Thang” t-shirt from the merchandise stand.

The Plaza Theater is very nice; the recent renovation was very tastefully done and the seats were very comfortable.
