A week or so ago, I was dumping some things off at the municipal recycling center and came across this 1979 Sansui receiver. It looked to be in decent shape, but I was unsure whether it worked. I decided to take it home and find out – along with a Sony TC-630D reel-to-reel recorder (no power cord for that, though).
What a good decision that was! The receiver worked nearly perfectly,
though there was some dropout in stereo mode on either side. After
applying some Deoxit, the issue seems to have lessened, however, an
occasional blasting of the volume seems to bring it back in full force. I
have a hunch that it was left unused for a while and just needs to be
broken in a little.
